THE PATH OF INSPIRATION BLOG

Create friendships based in joy.

We see people building friendships and companionship based on what is wrong with their lives. Are people more comfortable sharing hurts over happiness?  We know we will be accepted in our victimhood. We know others might even feel better about themselves at the expense of our supposed failures or misfortunes. Many create closeness victim to victim. Truth comes humbly, a poem. Truth can be found everywhere in our daily lives, and in the people we meet, the people we interact with daily, the people who do the jobs that keep our lives flowing. Who are your teachers?

Managing Yourself in Time

One of my mentors, Bill Truby taught me, “We don’t need to learn time management because we simply can’t manage time.”  He said, “The reality is that there are twenty-four hours in a day.  But what we can manage is ourselves in time.” I’m all for personal empowerment. Take charge of your life, do what you intend, and achieve your highest potential. Learning to manage ourselves in time is essential for busy people.

Why I am Choosing Interdependence

In seeking out a better understanding of what healthy love can be, I learned to reframe my righteous expectations of self-reliance and independence. I researched, studied and ultimately found that in a healthy relationship there is inter-dependence.  Inter-dependence is this sweet spot where we mutually give and take.  Where we do depend on each other, not to be whole, but to be two strong wholes joining to become a stronger team, together.  There is inter-reliance for the good of the ‘we.’

Part 2: Why Do Most Relationships Fail?

Disagreements are easy to focus on. The drama, the wanting to be right, the ‘proving I’m better by proving the other person is wrong’ – this is what most people in relationship unconsciously do. Unfortunately, this is what is also portrayed in the media, movies and reality shows. People focus on contrast and what is wrong, instead of what is right and common. In happy relationships, agreements rule. Agreements become the goal (even if you eventually agree to agree). With agreements there is peace.

Part 1: Why do relationships fail?

Growing Together: To grow together takes a commitment and communication. Have you sat down with your Beloved and acknowledged the true purpose for your union? Most marriage experts will tell you (I’ll tell you) it is to learn, to grow, to become a better person. Yes – your significant other is the key to personal growth, which means they will naturally trigger your past, your unconscious beliefs and fears, and your family patterns that you want to hide in the closet.

Chasing Mountains
